Last week, Syam got visitor from Indonesia namanya Pak Hendrawan, one of the suppliers. He & his frenz brought us some gifts like coklat, tea bali & kopi luwak...luwak sounds a bit weird but also familiar to me as i think i've heard it b4 on tv. Nevermind..Has anyone heard abt kopi luwak? Some of u may be do...but have u seen it with ur own eyes? This time i did. The pack has this 'luwak' as its company trademark. I was so curious about 'luwak' becoz they potray it as an something weasel-like animal. Like big cat & dog as well. In my mind, what are they gotta do with coffee? Before other staff turns it into drinks i put 'kopi luwak' in yahoo query box. Here some info abt it...check it out huhuee:-
1. Originally from Indonesia. They make big income throughout this business.
2. Luwak is slightly an average of household cat & can be found in South East Asia. It will only eat the choicest & matured beans which it then digested/be'ak a few hours later. Pastu, plantation workers retrieve the bean from the luwak shit/taik then cleaning & roasting it. Err...
3. Eksport it to worldwide in the form of actractive packings.
4. Kopi Luwak is believed to be the most expensive coffee in the world today becoz of its taste & unique coffee bean making. They said, "the aroma is rich & strong. The coffee is incredibly full bodied, almost syrupy...it's thick with a hint of chocolate & lingers on the tongue with a long aftertaste". Shockingly, the price per kilo is 1000 USD. Nuts.
5. It has been banned by Majlis Ulama Malaysia because it is actually obtained from the luwak poop...no doubt it is coffee beans but the fact that we took it from animal poop does really indicate it stills & remains as poo. Kopi Luwak however is allowed for drinking & given 'halal' status by Majlis Ulama Indonesia. isk..isk gamak ke mkn taik nih?

Note: Those who pay top ringgit for it have to convince themselves they love it. They actually pay for animal poo. Uh uh...
